Advent: coming
Black Friday launched the Christmas season with pepper spray and injuries. It seems to me that we have lost the meaning of Christmas. We have surrendered this most precious holiday to commercialism and greed.
As I have been preparing for Sunday’s sermon I have been reminded that Christmas is all about gifts. It is just not about those you can find in a store. The most important gifts come from above and spill through the heart and human soul. Maybe we ought to take a few moments to look at the faith of Mary and Joseph, that we should be reminded of the gift of Christ to the world.
